MESSAGE FROM SOLRAK

To all family and friends,
This past month of May has been a meditative experience for me. I feel like I’m resting my mind and body for the long rough journey ahead. For those of you who are not hip, B Side has a new record coming out and are preparing to spread the music worldwide. I have devoted my life to this musical movement and feel so proud and honored to work with the people that stand beside me. Everyday I give thanks for those who put their heart and soul into B Side Players. It seems like the energy level at the shows is becoming more intense and people are as excited as we are about this new record. Witnessing this just inspires me more to appreciate life and the gift that God has blessed me with. I guarantee that this new record will not let any True B Side Players Fans down. We encourage all music lovers to express your positivity with us on our website and to come out and celebrate life with us at the shows. Thank you so much to the brothers and sisters who are passing the music on and continue to help us expand our musical family. We are definitely where we are supposed to be right now and it is only the beginning.

Peace and Love to all,
SOLRAK

D’s Health

I found out today that I have a very serious health issue that could effect BSP.
I was out shooting baskets and developed a crook in my elbow. My right arm seems to be stuck at a 90 degree angle and every time I shoot the ball…..
It goes in! seems that no matter how hard I try I cannot miss the hoop.

I went to the doctor and she said it is a very rare disease. Only Michael Jordan and Magic johnson have been diagnosed with it. ” can’t miss the hoopatosis”
I guess I am the first Latino to ever come down with the symptoms.

I have been working on it and looks like I can still play bass but I may be more valuable on the court.

Please pray for me.

Love
D

Thoughts on the Los Angeles May Day March

May 1st 2007 MacArthur Park Los Angeles USA a man pushes along his ice cream cart selling popsicles while police in riot gear spray rubber bullets into a peaceful crowd.

Violence is ignorance in action. We are supposed to be able to assemble freely. We are supposed to have rights. But depending on who you are or where you are from men with guns will usually determine your fate. Our police forces are an extension of our government, appointed to keep the peace and uphold the law. How do we expect them to act when the example that they set is to run over towns with tanks and bombs. This has become the American way and unfortunately has made us the most hated nation in the world. We have a bloody history and our present state of affairs is no better.

In this beautiful world we would think that it would be easy to live in peace and “love thy neighbor.”

It makes us very sad to see the current state of our nation and world. We work so hard and spend so much to oppress and pollute. All the war money spent could re build New Orleans and create sustainable energy for our country. All our war money could create health care and feed and educate millions but it appears that our country would rather spend billions and kill thousands. Here at home our voices are ignored and our people are pushed down in the streets and shot with rubber bullets. The War on terror and the war on immigration are one and the same. It is violence creating violence. This is the example of our great nation to the world.
